Jules Brenner Achievement Fellowship in Molecular Biology

Jules Brenner worked in the cinematography division of the motion picture industry from the end of his military service in 1959 to the day of his retirement in 1996. His film credits included Dalton Trumbo’s “Johnny Got His Gun,” John Milius’ “Dillinger,” two early episodes of the MacGyver TV series and the cult fave, “The Return of the Living Dead.” (His full credit list is available on IMDB).
Although not a professional scientist, Mr Brenner believed that Molecular Biology is where the future lies and, beginning in 2015, provided a gift to the Molecular Biology Institute to recognize outstanding students that have advanced the discipline.
After his death in 2021, the Jules Brenner Revocable Living Trust honored his wishes to establish an endowment to continue recognizing exception young scientists in the Molecular Biology Institute.
