The MBI hosts annual workshops to introduce its members to the latest advances in research techniques and to expand the training and professional development of our graduate students. Workshops are held several times a year, and are open to MBI members and their lab personnel on a first come, first served basis.
“Biotechnology Edge” is a workshop designed with graduate students and postdocs in mind. Lead by researchers from Amgen, the workshop explains each component of the drug discovery pipeline and how it contributes to the development of life-saving pharmaceuticals. “Focus on Imaging”, in collaboration with Carl Zeiss Microscopy is a week-long workshop, focusing on the latest advances in microscopy. The workshop features presentations from academia and industry experts, in addition to demonstrations and hands-on training. The next workshop is scheduled for May 2017.
