Call for Abstracts***Talk Abstract Submission Deadline: Monday August 15***We're very excited about this year's retreat because once again it is being student-organized! Submit a talk abstract for presentation at the retreat and if chosen, attend free! The program includes the following sessions: · Chemical Genomics: Using Small Molecules to Disrupt Biological Function (chaired by Fuyu Tamanoi and Parthive Patel) · Fantastic Three: Genetics, Genomics, and Gene Expression (chaired by Steve Smale and Josh Black) · Stem Cells et al. (chaired by Jean deVellis and Rosemarie Tsoa) · MBI’s 40th Year: A Look Back, A View Forward (with Paul Boyer, Dick Dickerson, Arnie Berk and Steve Clarke) Your research does NOT have to fit into the above planned sessions in order to submit an abstract for consideration. We will ultimately plan our final sessions around the pool of submitted abstracts. All graduate students and postdocs in MBI-faculty-member labs are welcome to submit talk abstracts, as well as MBI faculty members. Submit your talk abstract by email to mbiasst@mednet.ucla.edu. Besides your name and campus phone, please also include the following within your email: (a) whose lab you are in (if you are not faculty!) (b) whether you are a grad student or postdoc (if you are not faculty!) (c) the session in which you would like to present RESERVATION INFO: You don't have to present a talk or poster to attend! Those of you who would just like a fun weekend in the beautiful mountain setting are welcome to join us. Reservation information will be sent out soon in a separate communication.
